The Forshadowning (Dark/Doom - Italie)

Italy is not necessarily known for being home to great bands in dark/doom metal, but fortunately enough there's always exceptions to the rule. Because with their sophomore album 'Oionos' THE FORESHADOWING have delivered an absolute masterpiece of dark melancholy. The Romans prove that it is indeed possible to write great, atmospheric songs in this genre without excessive kitsch and exaggerated pathos.
